2019-2020 Scholarship Application

The Scholarship Process for 2019-2020 is changed for this Spring only:

For the 2019–2020 academic year (only), the San Diego County Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation is pleased to work with the Community College Districts of San Diego in awarding scholarships to needy incoming freshmen students.

As in the past, criteria for being awarded a scholarship are as follows:

  • Applicants must have resided in San Diego County for the last 12 months.
  • Applicants must be first time college students.
  • Applicants must have graduated in 2019 from a high school in San Diego County.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in district community colleges for the 2019-20 academic year.
  • Applicants must be enrolled in college full-time, a minimum of 12 credit hours.
  • Applicants must have completed an application for financial aid (FASFA or a dream act application).
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants must be California residents for financial and eligibility purposes.
  • Applicants must be designated as “Promise” students.
  • Colleges will include an authorization to release awarded students’ names and grades to the SDCCSF Board of Directors, in application materials .

To apply for the scholarships, applicants will contact the designated college “Promise coordinator” at the community college of their choice. Applications will be available between August and fall enrollment, as determined by the local community college.
